FENTY BEAUTY REVIEW

Happy New Year lovelies!

Thought I'd start it off with a quick review of Fenty's Beauty Pro Filt'r foundation.

Purchased at: Harvey Nichols for £26
The foundation gives a soft matte, medium to high coverage finish.

Coverage:

The coverage is medium, but definitely buildable. With one pump, it covers most imperfections but you can definitely still see a bit, so if you want that full coverage, I'd say you need to just add more of the product. The foundation itself isn't too heavy, and doesn't feel 'cakey' so it's good for long hours, but you'll need concealer for the under eye areas and for any blemishes as the foundation itself won't cover it.

Shade:

So as you've probably heard, Rihanna developed the Fenty Beauty foundation range with over 40 shades! Yes, 40 shades. So there's definitely a shade to match you. I was actually shade matched the wrong colour the first time I went into Harvey Nichols, which is pretty annoying since it was about 2 shades too light. I'd definitely recommend going in with no/minimum makeup and get them to apply it to your whole face so you can see how it looks. If you're unsure about what shade you are, Harvey Nichols do a shade matcher online, so use that as a guideline then go in store. I tried the shade 190, which is a neutral shade so doesn't have any yellow or pink undertones. The foundation does oxidise a little so the shade may look a little different when you first apply it, but I wouldn't say the difference is big enough for you to see.

Skin type:

I would say I have combination dry skin, but this changes throughout seasons, so my skin is much more dry during winter. I always apply some sort of moisturiser or primer before applying my foundation. This definitely helps smooth the foundation and reduces it sinking into any pores, but it's optional and is entirely up to you!

Application:

I used a Sigma foundation brush to apply to foundation, but you can use any sponge/brush you like. I do think you need to blend it in, or else with any foundation it becomes pretty streaky and leaves marks.

Price:

So the price is £26 for the foundation, which is pretty good compared to a lot of high end luxury foundations. It's definitely good for its price, but it'll also depend on your skin type and how you use it. For example, for super long days I would use Estee Lauder's double wear foundation and not Fenty Beauty. However, this would be suitable for an everyday foundation as you can just apply less of the product.

Overall:

I'd give it 4/5. It's worth it for its price, and its been highly reviewed. I wouldn't say its my favourite foundation but its good compared to a lot of other ones, especially with the amount of shade choices. It lasts you throughout the day without the need of topping up, and gives that soft matte look which is what I look for in most of my foundations.

The finished look:
Please excuse the bad lighting and how messy I look, I did my all this in 15 minutes whilst rushing to uni haha :)

Hope you liked this quick review!
Everything is just based upon my own opinion/experience, so do let me know what you think if you buy it too!
